Lately, Data Science has been receiving a lot of press as the career of the future. What does it really entail, does it live up to the hype, and how do you get there? Dr. Hannah Arnson, Lead Data Scientist at Pandata will talk about her engineering-adjacent career path from neuroscientist to data scientist. She will discuss what it is like to be a woman in a male-dominated quantitative field and impart career lessons extrapolated from a rich personal dataset.

Dr. Hannah Arnson is a Lead Data Scientist at Pandata, a Cleveland-based data science consulting firm. Dr. Arnson earned her bachelor’s degree at Brandeis University, and her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis. She then did postdoctoral research at Baylor College of Medicine and Case Western Reserve University studying navigation circuits in pigeons and then olfactory circuits. Following a career pivot, Dr. Arnson transitioned from neuroscientist to data scientist, swapping brain cells for business questions.
