About Speakers:
George Ponchak is a Senior Research Engineer at the Communications, Instrumentation, and Controls Division at NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, OH. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and previously served as the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions Microwave Theory and Techniques from 2010-2013, the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters from 2006-2009. He received the 2014 N. Walter Cox Award that recognizes an IEEE MTT-S member who has given exemplary service to the Society and the Best Paper of the ISHM’97 30th International Symposium on Microelectronics Award. George received the B. E. E. degree from Cleveland State University, Cleveland, OH in 1983, the M.S.E.E. degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH in 1987, and the Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI in 1997.
Mike Allan is a Senior Licensing Officer in the Technology Transfer Office at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). Mike applies his experiences from more than twenty years in the field of technology transfer to manage intellectual property and technology commercialization initiatives emerging primarily from CWRU’s School of Engineering and from selective departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. This extends to his collaboration in numerous translational research funding programs to facilitate these initiatives and interfacing with CWRU’s Great Lakes Energy Institute and its Office of Research Administration with respect to contract negotiation and resolution. In support of collaborations being led by senior leadership, Mike also exerts a significant role in managing external relationships on both academic and corporate levels, including those with the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), the premier membership organization for technology transfer professionals worldwide.
Michael Stojsavljevic leads the Cleveland IEEE Young Professionals and Blockchain Affinity Groups. He is a Law Student at the Cleveland Marshall Law School and a Patent Engineer at Tarolli, Sundheim, Covell & Tummino LLP. Michael graduated with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the Washkewicz College of Engineering in 2018, where he was President of the Cleveland State IEEE Student Branch. During his undergraduate career, Michael participated in research of Artificial Intelligence in robotics, as well as data acquisition in prosthetics.
