Cleveland, 100Gbps satellite, and how will it transform broadband access?

Dr. William H. Thesling III will present, "What does Cleveland have in common with 100Gbps satellite and how will it transform broadband access?"

Dr. Thesling is a co-founder of Efficient Channel Coding, Inc which later became part of ViaSat, Inc (2006) and has been the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) since 1998. He is responsible for all research and development along with key business development support. He has more than fifteen years of experience is in the fields of digital signal processing, communication systems design, and forward error correction.

His patent for our Turbo Product Code (TPC) decoding algorithms resulted in the first commercially available turbo coding forward error correction chip. Additional technical contributions in satellite communications include the design of many key aspects of adaptive satellite networks. Dr. Thesling has multiple patents, several patents pending, and has been published in numerous technical publications.

Dr. Thesling holds Doctor of Engineering, MSEE, and BSEE degrees, all from Cleveland State University. He is a member of the IEEE, Tau Beta Pi, and Eta Kappa Nu.
